Connected Table documentation

Connected Table is a configurable table custom field for Jira issues and Jira Service Management portals, built on Atlassian Forge. It lets teams store structured, multi-row/multi-column data inside a single Jira field — with typed columns, formulas, required-column validation, per-issue change history, and a customer-portal view.

At a glance

  • What it is — a custom field that stores a whole table (rows & columns) inside a single Jira issue field.
  • Where it shows — click-to-edit on the issue view, an Apps issue panel, a Connected Table History activity tab, and a read/edit panel on the JSM customer portal.
  • Column types — text, number, checkbox, date/time, single & multi-select, user picker, formula (computed), and auto-increment sequence.
  • Spreadsheet actions — merge cells within a column and Excel-style drag-to-fill.
  • Built on — Atlassian Forge; runs entirely within Atlassian’s cloud, with no external hosting or database.
